BB.2.2 The effect of impacts to the MATTRESS SUPPORT PLATFORM
The MEDICAL BED shall be able to withstand the effect of impacts to the MATTRESS SUPPORT PLATFORM being applied during NORMAL USE.
Compliance Test Procedure
  • Place the mattress, as specified by the MANUFACTURER, onto the MATTRESS SUPPORT PLATFORM
  • Position moving elements free of supporting elements with inclination less than 7° in relation to horizontal
  • For height-adjustable platforms, position in the middle of the adjustment range
  • From 180 mm above the mattress, drop the impactor (see Figure BB.2) onto the MEDICAL BED 20 times at each "B" location (Figure BB.1)
  • Impactor may be guided to ensure accurate impact locations
  • After testing, no elements shall become loose, fractured, or present any HAZARD
